VARIA loudspeaker systems are designed to be the most flexible and versatile loudspeakers ever created. Equally at home in
permanent installations, on tour, or in rental inventory, VARIA’s
highly configurable enclosures and ingenuous hardware make it
easy to tailor each speaker to every application.
VARIA integrates only the highest quality components, powerful mid
and low-frequency woofers, lightweight neodymium Compression
Drivers, all coupled to the most advanced cabinet and waveguide
designs. The result is a system that delivers the sound and
performance you’ve come to expect from Renkus-Heinz.
With VARIA’s modular approach, cabinets can easily be
configured as ground stacked systems, flown as vertical arrays,
and even as powerful horizontal loudspeaker arrays. A wide
selection of coverage angles is available: choose from 60, 90,
or 120 degree patterns, or make use of the unique transitional
waveguides, progressing from 60 to 90, or 90 to 120 degrees
within a single enclosure.
Available as self-powered enclosures or externally amplified,
VARIA’s flexibility, power, and performance make it an ideal solution
for the most demanding applications.

VARIA offers three full-range enclosures. Our unique Renkus-Heinz
Tuned Conic Diverter waveguide technology ensures seamless
integration and transition between adjacent cabinets.
VARIA 101 models are available in 7.5º, 15º and 22.5º versions.
Each enclosure’s waveguide and cabinet sides are perfectly
aligned to provide true point-source performance.
Coverage can be easily tailored to meet shape and SPL requirements
for every venue. 15º and 22.5º cabinets offer optimal coverage for
lower output applications; for higher output applications, multiple
7.5º cabinets can cover the same area.

Just as with coverage, consistency in level is easy to achieve:
tight 7.5º cabinets for long throw, 15º cabinets for medium throw,

| Point Source Clarity • Line Array Power |
VARIA loudspeaker systems can be configured in either constant curvature or
traditional line array arrangements. Up to 12 cabinets can be suspended in a
single array, all connected together with durable, safe, integral hardware.
7.5º VARIA cabinets offer articulated hardware and can be arrayed as a traditional
line array, from a flat-fronted 0º at the top for longer throw, transitioning to a tightpacked
7.5º further down the array. 15º and 22.5º cabinets can be easily arrayed
tight-packed to adjacent cabinets – ideal for adding to the bottom of an array for
downfill use.
Matching VA/VAX15S 15” subwoofers can be flown alongside, behind, or at the top
of the array, depending on the requirements. Universal hardware allows for cardioid
arrays to be assembled as and when the need arises. Simply flip one or more subs
within the array and adjust the onboard DSP to provide a highly directional low
frequency array.
Suspending a flown VARIA array is fast and easy. Up to 12 cabinets can be
suspended from the VARIA RHANG flybar accessory, often from a single motor and
single point. With VARIA’s captive and integral cabinet-to-cabinet hardware, there
are no tools required and no parts to lose. |

| Modular Point Source Horizontal Arrays |
With its unique design and tightly controlled coverage pattern, VARIA performs
equally well as a horizontal point source array – for example, as a center channel
in an LCR design.
VARIA 22.5º cabinets have been designed to fly either as modules in a vertical array, or
as part of a tight-packed horizontal array. The system designer or sound engineer can
now build horizontal coverage in 22.5º "slices" as required, with seamless integration
between cabinets – a true Modular Point Source solution.
In horizontal clusters, VARIA's unique waveguide design makes building asymmetric
coverage fast and easy. In addition to the standard 60º, 90º, and 120º available vertical
coverage angles, asymmetric 75º (+30º /-45º) arrangements are available, reducing the amount of mechanical downtilt required. |
| The same intuitive, integral, interlocking hardware that makes VARIA easy to deploy in
line array applications also ensures seamless, tight-packed, horizontal clusters. An array
of two enclosures can be suspended from a single point using a single RHANG101H pickup bar; three or four wide clusters will require two RHANG101H units. |

10" Low Frequency woofer coupled with either one or two

7.5º VARIA cabinets employ articulated flying hardware to hang and array like traditional line arrays, 15º and 22.5º cabinets are
fixed curvature and must be tight pack arrayed.

The self-powered VA15S and externally amplified VAX15S are ideal
companions to VARIA101 array modules. Their high-power 15" woofer
delivers outstanding low-frequency impact in a design that maximizes the
efficiency of their cutting edge woofer technology.
Low-frequency output extends down below 40 Hz and delivers a
peak SPL output of up to 129 dB, providing a solid foundation for any
musical performance.
VA/VAX15S subwoofers can be ground stacked and used as a sturdy
base for one or more VARIA array modules. They can also be flown as separate low frequency arrays, or flown
at the top of full-range VARIA arrays, keeping the entire system off the floor.

handling the most demanding musical performances, especially in difficult acoustical environments |

Unlike other loudspeakers in its class, all VARIA full-range modules can be
configured with traditional fixed-dispersion waveguides or with transitional
waveguides, allowing the dispersion to be matched to the venue.
VARIA101 comes standard with 90º horizontal waveguides, designed for
use in portable systems and temporary installations. For fixed installations,
or for special-purpose rental inventory, VARIA101 can be equipped with
standard 60º and 120º waveguides, or with 60º to 90º and 90º to 120º
transitional waveguides.
These revolutionary transitional waveguides deliver horizontal coverage
that can seamlessly transition within a single cabinet. This eliminates
issues associated with using different waveguides in adjacent cabinets,
ensuring optimal performance.
Arrays can now be designed with 60º coverage at the top for the longest
throw, and 120º at the bottom for downfill, providing optimal coverage.
This versatility, coupled with the power density control of the three cabinet
angles, and the ease of DSP gain-shading in RHAON amp modules,
delivers a highly flexible solution to the challenges of a performance venue. |
